About us

Our Mission

Our mission is to establish an accessible digital public infrastructure platform for the geospatial community. We aim to foster the creation and acceptance of an Integrated Geospatial Data-sharing Interface, enabling seamless sharing of geospatial data across diverse platforms, systems, and organizations. We believe that by establishing common standards, protocols, and interfaces, we can unlock the complete potential of geospatial data to address global challenges and drive positive societal impact.

Our Vision

Our vision is a future where geospatial data can be seamlessly exchanged, integrated, and leveraged to address complex challenges such as urbanization, climate change, natural disasters, and sustainable development. We envision a world where stakeholders across sectors and disciplines can collaborate effectively, share data transparently, and harness the power of geospatial information to build resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities.

Whether you are diving into data as a consumer or fuelling the flow as a provider, GDI platform is your go-to ecosystem for controlled sharing, getting access to well-described datasets, processing and analytics of your invaluable data.

What We Do

GDI platform is poised to revolutionize sharing, accessing and utilization of geospatial data across diverse industries and sectors. GDI platform represents a transformative leap forward in geospatial data collaboration, offering a unified platform where organizations, researchers, policymakers, and citizens can seamlessly exchange, visualize, and analyze geospatial information. At its core, GDI serves as a dynamic hub for accessing, sharing, and leveraging spatial data to address complex challenges and drive informed decision-making.

GDI is a platform that provides interoperable analytics ready geospatial data from a diverse set of sources. Access to this data is easy to use through standard and universally accepted interfaces. Concurrently a spatial data analytics engine, containing advanced spatial processing primitives, enhances the value of raw data on the exchange. The outcomes of this project are directly addressing a key requirement, identified in the National Geospatial Policy (NGP) 2022, for India to become a world leader in the Global Geospatial Sector.

GDI is inspired by the India Urban Data Exchange (IUDX) initiative. While focusing on geospatial data, we leverage the robust underlying architecture of IUDX which has been successfully deployed across the nation.
